Company Overview
INS Sudlows began life in 1912. Since the very early days as an electrical contractor, we have sought to develop the business from a strong technological base.
We are one of the UK's specialists in the design, installation and maintenance of Data and Power systems and we take pride in offering complete technical solutions. This makes us the ideal choice when deciding on support for new installations or simple adds, moves and changes.
We are champions in core applications such as Blown Fibre and Category 6 UTP cabling. By aligning your electrical and communications needs, INS can offer all our clients a complete service; saving you both the time and expense of sourcing multiple suppliers.
One of our main clients to benefit from this integration of skills is the renowned law firm, Halliwells. As they continue to expand within the UK, they are assured that the resilience of their network will grow with them.
INS Sudlows: The Difference
A relationship with INS Sudlows is markedly different to the norm of other competitors in the power, data and building industry. Whilst safe working lies at the heart of our organisation, we are accredited to both CHAS (Contractors Health & Safety Scheme) and Constructionline. Our staff are trained and certified by the Chartered Institute of Environmental Health, all of our site personnel carry the CSCS skills card and all of our installation teams have the Basic Health and Safety certificate.
All project management teams, including designers, estimators and lead engineers are certified in Risk Assessments. Many of our staff are even trained first-aiders.
Standards Compliant & Warranted Installations
All of our work is European standards compliant. Our manufacturers are market leaders in their fields and are represented on the industry standards committees. Through us, installations are warranted by our manufacturing partners for up to 25 years.
To help ensure that we consistently install to quality standards, our installation staff receive certified training from our manufacturers. Similarly, our designers are continuously trained, to ensure that our designs conform to all requirements, both technical and environmental.
As a consequence of our reputation in compliant installations, we are often requested to re-install others contractors' non-compliant work. In a recent example, a Category 6 hospital installation failed the compliance tests and we were asked to rectify the installation.
Service Level Agreements
Our major projects with our clients are given a Service Level Agreement (SLA). An SLA sets out the minimum levels of service that the client will receive from INS Sudlows. In developing this document, we make a comprehensive assessment of the client needs and agree their expectations of us. We then state what will be the minimum level of performance to be delivered, against a detailed set of criteria.
Our Service Level Agreements have been evolved during many years of operation and demonstrate our confidence in our ability to deliver to you what we promise.
Updating Client Technology
We organise free technical road shows in partnership with our manufacturers, where technical updates are presented to our clients. We do this because we recognise the importance of staying at the forefront of technology and also appreciate that this is a priority for many of our clients.
Here are two examples of recent events:
Bridgewater Hall, Manchester – Three of our manufacturers gave technical presentations on the latest cabling standards, with an insight into why Category 6 is becoming so widely specified. As well as the latest in Free Space Optics, Wireless solutions and IP Security cameras.
Old Trafford, Manchester - This session dealt with Blown Fibre, Wireless, Voice over IP and other emerging technologies, focusing on what will be standard systems in two years time.

Manufacturer Relationships
We have been specifically selected by manufacturing partners, including Molex PN, ADC Krone, Emtelle and Brand-Rex. So we are constantly audited on and off site – evaluated against strict a criterion that reflects our financial stability, design & engineering capability and our installation competencies.
